MYSELF - Protest In Disguise CD

MYSELF - Protest In Disguise CD
Couture Music Wear / Sumthing Distribution

Alt Rock and indie hip hop artist, MYSELF was spotted by EMG President Kevin Connal when the New Orleans native rocker and his band played at New York's famous BB King's Blues Club in Times Square on July 16, 2007. The pair met after the live set, and it was only a matter of hours before the two were on the phone making deals. MYSELF, a riveting live entertainer, thoughtful songwriter, and a perfectionist in the recording studio, was said by Connal to be "a consummate professional who knows few musical boundaries and is fearless enough to take his style/sound in a vast array of directions. Ten minutes into his set I wanted him on our roster." MYSELF defies genres while re-defining originality. His musical stylings have been described as COUTURE (tailor made to fit every one). His sonic moshpit encompasses raw-like-sushi punk, organic hip hop, gumbo funk, hot buttered soul & future classic alternative rock! MYSELF's music speaks for itself, communicating a language that stretches from the muddy Mississippi river to the historical temples of Japan. The rebel rocker has worked with multiple platinum and Grammy winners such as Arrested Development, The Roots, Public Enemy, blues maestro Chris Thomas King, and countless other industry veterans. He has been featured on MTV JAMS, FOX TV, MTV Japan, CW Network, and in magazines such as Billboard, Living Blues, and Whoofin. MYSELF is also appearing in the upcoming documentary "Pocket Change" featuring Academy Award Winner Oliver Stone. In addition, producer and multi-platinum music icon Nile Rodgers, who produced hits for Madonna, Sting and Duran Duran, recently signed MYSELF to Sumthing Distribution.

MYSELF's self-financed, ambitious & groundbreaking debut album Protest In Disguise is being released on his own boutique label and fashion house Couture Music Wear, Inc. The album was recorded at the legendary Chung King Studios (formerly Chunk King House of Metal), which has been the home for many Def Jam classic recordings (Rick Rubin, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, LL Cool J). MYSELF can now be added to this A-list of album projects. Protest In Disguise contains fourteen turbo supercharged high octane tracks. The lead single "God is so Funky" is a soulful melodic/hypnotic catchy song that truly rocks the dancefloor! "Where We Going?" is a blues entrenched worldbeat jam that incorporates the essentials of a modern day Bob Dylan/Bob Marley cry for change. "Baby..You Drive Me Crazy" picks up where the party let's off; it's a fast & furious punk hip hop adrenaline anthem that delves into the hardships of relationships. Protest in Disguise showcases musical dexterity and lyrical complexity, evoking MYSELF's strength as a tremendous songwriter, producer and lyricist. The songs on Protest In Disguise burn slowly and ignite intensely, encouraging the listener to "Keep The Fire Burnin'."
